Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Director of Talent Practices will be responsible for the strategy, design, development and on-going management of Intuitive's talent programs and processes, including performance management, organizational talent planning, succession, employee experience/engagement and assessments.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Talent Management & Development, HR Business Leaders, Learning & Development, and our People Data and Analytics teams to design, develop and deploy effective and impactful enterprise talent strategies, solutions and processes
  • Advise and assist Talent Management & Development leads with applying enterprise talent strategies, solutions and process with local relevance and adaption as needed
  • Perform as the thought leader and subject matter expert on talent strategies, practices and processes
  • Build, grow and lead a strong team of expert talent professionals with key capabilities in the areas of performance, succession and assessments
  • Attract, lead and develop a team of highly expert talent specialists (direct and matrixed)
  • Establish an IO Psychology/Psychometric based assessment strategy and solution set for use in selecting, promoting and developing leaders and high performing employees
  • Ensure corporate compliance of talent practices as it relates to fiduciary and legal requirements of a publicly traded company and US Government Contractor
  • Partner with the Director of Leadership Development to help establish and support an enterprise strategy and multi-year roadmap for building critical leadership capabilities at all levels to enable Intuitive's business strategy and growth plans
  • Conduct comprehensive needs analyses to determine key outcomes and measurement strategies that include experience and impact measurements for core processes and programs
  • Develop competency-based career and development pathways for critical roles with development solutions that include experiences, exposure and education
  • Establish and maintain an effective Employee Experience survey and listening strategy for actionable insights and enterprise and local levels
  • Own, optimize, and manage your portfolio's operations, including demand analysis, budgeting, resources, delivery management, communications, evaluation, reporting, content evolution, deployment technologies, and vendor relationships
  • Establish and maintain a strong network of external talent solution vendors and thought leaders to innovate practices and processes, as well as use of leading edge technologies for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop effective marketing, communication and change plans for portfolio of solutions and individual programs
  • Design and develop talent solutions and processes that support global application and scale with ability to tailor and adapt for local relevance and impact
  • Partner with Director of Leadership Development to assess, maintain and/or refine Leadership Expectations, Success Profiles and Competencies as foundation for development and growth
  • Partner and support employee and leadership development programs and/or initiatives, including Inclusion and Diversity initiatives
  • Advise and support other HR teams and initiatives with effective assessment solutions for use in hiring, selection, promotion and development
  • Establish a portfolio of solutions that supports all leaders, as well as targeted solutions to help build and strengthen leadership pipelines for critical roles
  • Perform as an internal thought leader, subject matter expert and speaker on topics of talent strategies and practices

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Demonstrated thought leader and subject matter expertise in Talent Management / Talent Practices, including Performance Management, Succession, Employee Engagement and Assessments
  • Adept at working in a matrix environment; exceptional collaboration, communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to partner and influence all levels of the organization, including VP & above.
  • Ability to engage and navigate multiple stakeholders with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to formulate and execute talent strategies with a multi-year plan to develop, deliver and maintain multiple talent solutions
  • Strong strategic consulting skills that leverages strong business acumen, industry knowledge and subject matter expertise
  • Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, objectivity with the highest professional ethics, and always maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • Data-driven and able to synthesize key insights

 

Experience, Education, & Training:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience leading, managing and delivering customized talent practices, including performance management, succession, employee experience and assessments
  • Minimum 5-7 years of people leadership experience, including managing remote and matrixed resources in a global setting
  • Experienced in a variety of talent theories and methodologies for use and application in performance management, organizational talent planning/success, employee engagement and assessments
  • Experience with measurement strategies, including experience and impact-based measurements
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a business or HR-related field desired.
  • Masters in IO Psychology preferred
