Position Summary: Responsible for growing Selfhelp’s presence online including on social media, google suite, and our website, by developing and executing a strategy that increases Selfhelp’s reach and influence with our online community. A key responsibility is developing and executing a digital strategy that promotes Selfhelp, including our fundraising priorities and helps grow our revenue-generating programs.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day to day management of Selfhelp’s various digital platforms, including social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube), website, google suite (ads, maps), email marketing (Constant Contact), with the goal of increasing funders, growing community members (clients, donors, volunteers, staff), and raising Selfhelp’s digital visibility.
  • Create and implement a strategy for enhancing Selfhelp's digital presence. Create and execute communication campaigns that support organizational objectives and promote the visibility and influence of revenue-generating programs.
  • Serve as a point person for the organization’s website, including day-to-day management in WordPress Elementor.
  • Collaborate with Foundation staff to promote fundraising priorities online including writing copy, designing and managing ad campaigns, and recommending digital campaigns to complement print appeals. Ability to analyze campaign impact through analytics.
  • Collaborate with Program staff to promote revenue-generating programs online. This includes writing and managing digital campaigns (paid and unpaid), creating and sharing relevant content, and keeping all program information updated.
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of social media channels, including creating content, maintaining a calendar, using software to schedule posts, and analyzing results to optimize engaging content. Video production (in-person and remotely via Zoom) required to create engaging video content.
  • Manage and optimize Selfhelp’s google account, including ads, analytics, and google my business locations.
  • Assist department members, program staff, and SCS Foundation with advertising initiatives by researching costs, developing proposals, designing advertisements, and placing ads online.
  • Assist with ongoing work related to branding. Work with Managing Director to design materials for the organization and various departments that are in line with Selfhelp branding standards.
  • Along with the Communications Associate, support write and send email updates and communications to both staff and external partners, working with department members, SCS Foundation, and other program staff when needed.
  • Other duties as needed to support Selfhelp and the department.
  • Adhere to organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance.

  • Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Two–three years’ experience working in communications, ideally with experience managing social media accounts, or website edits, or google accounts.
  • Graphic design and video editing skills with experience using Adobe, or similar professional software required. Software subscriptions will be provided.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn how to edit within WordPress Elementor.
  • Computer proficiency and comfort with digital tools a must.
  • Problem solving abilities while multi-tasking; ability to exercise sound judgment

  • Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Business Office Environment with phone and computer use with some remote work each month.

    To ensure the safety of our clients and staff, all new employees must be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. Upon acceptance of a conditional job offer, candidates who are not already vaccinated must obtain the first dose of the vaccine within three (3) calendar days of job offer and must obtain any subsequent doses in accordance with the vaccine protocol.
