Cost Accountant

Henry company, the newest addition to the Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies brands, has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join the team in Chattanooga, TN. The Cost Accountant position will provide accounting and analytical support for Henry's growing building envelope system business. This position will consist of performing the standard cost setting process, variance analysis and month-end close process related to manufacturing for Henry's fifteen facilities. The position will also offer financial insight and guidance to business unit leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Complete all month-end requirements including journal entries for manufacturing, reports (COGS detail report) and variance analysis as required.
* Proactive variance analysis and reporting to management including:

* Review of last in raw material costs and periodically update of actual costs
* Review E&O inventory and calculate reserve adjustments
* Review work orders for accuracy and investigate variances
* Prepare purchase price variance reports
* Compile work order data and create labor and overhead performance reports
* Reconcile perpetual to G/L Inventory balances on a monthly basis.
* Prepare journal entries for month-end closing and supply account reconciliation documentation as required.
* Assist in year-end standard cost update.
* Review bill of materials and routings for completeness and usability within in JD Edwards.
* Lead projects with the Operations group to improve processes and reporting.
* Review month end cycle count reports and monitor transactions with large quantities and errors.
* Respond to "Cost Accounting Help Desk" tickets on a regular basis.

* Standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:

* Office/work-from home hybrid environment
* Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.

Travel Requirement:

* No travel is required for this position.

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

* Standard costing system methodology including variance analysis
* MS Office with advanced Excel skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated experience working in an ERP system (preferably JDE/Oracle)

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting with strong financial accounting knowledge. CPA or CMA is desirable.
* Minimum of five years in manufacturing/cost accounting environment.
