Responsibilities

With collaboration and participation with the Program Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the operational and financial management of the accredited/nonaccredited residency/fellowship training program. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies and hospital policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.

The Program Coordinator will continually assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long range planning, recruiting trainees, developing projects, analyzing administrative workflow, maintaining databases, communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues, and managing internal and external program relations. Program Coordinator acts as an educational liaison between attending physicians, residents and medical students (if applicable), other specialty departments, outside institutions, GME Office and Medical Staff office and assures program compliance with all regulatory agency standards (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, ACGME.)

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma required.

Preferred Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's, five years of experience in an administrative role.

Required Minimum Experience
  • Two (2) years' experience in an administrative role.

Preferred Minimum Experience
  • Experience in an ACGME accredited Graduate Medical Education program preferred.

Required Minimum Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Minimum Skills
  • Knowledge of the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), and the National Intern and Residency Matching Program (NIRMP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of resident database New Innovations preferred.
