Communications Specialist

Nature of Work

Works with in-house Marketing team to create and coordinate all corporate communications for MMC Corp and its subsidiary companies (MMC Contractors, MW Builders, Countywide Mechanical Systems, and Building Control Services). Responsible for content creation of internal and external communication mediums.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Write and coordinate external communication including news releases, website updates, articles for internally-created industry magazines (Connected Partners & Strong Foundation), and copy for annual report
  • Write content for all social media sites and develop social media campaigns
  • Develop Intranet content, creating posts and editing employee submissions 
  • Assist with Living the Values program, including proofing nominations and posting to Intranet
  • Manage all public relations projects, including writing press releases and pitching media to secure coverage
  • Manage award entry process, tracking opportunities and filling out submissions (i.e. Project submissions, Best Places to Work, Top Contractors, etc.)
  • Develop communications surrounding corporate updates, including Intranet write-ups and drafting company announcements
  • Develop copy for sales and recruiting communications materials, including brochures, trade show materials, etc.
  • Draft content for 'Year in Reviews'
  • Assist with internal training programs and provide communications training as needed to field and office staff
  • Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization

Education

Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited university in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing, or related area; or equivalent experience.

Experience

Two to three years of related work experience preferred.

Travel Requirements

Requires minimal travel nationwide and locally.
