CNC Programmer

Aavid Thermal Division of Boyd Corporation is a market leader and manufacturer of high-performance cooling products for use in the aerospace, military, alternative energy and medical markets. We are seeking an experienced CNC programmer to support our expanding CNC machine shop in the machining of our aluminum cold plate and heat exchanger products. This position reports to the CNC Programming Supervisor within the Process Engineering Department.

The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter with good communication skills who can support a CNC machine shop team for new and repeating product, with a focus on reducing cost, improving quality, and increasing throughput. This candidate must have experience with both horizontal and vertical machining centers, experience in complex work holding designs. The candidate must have experience using Solid Works and experience using MasterCam X9 or newer. Experience with Vericut software, and developing and writing Renishaw probing and logic routines is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

• Participating on design teams of new product to design for manufacturability.
• Writing CNC programs and producing detailed setup sheet documentation
• Providing work holding and fixture designs to support the necessary setups.
• Participating in program prove out for error checking and run time reduction.
• Conducting post program prove out audits to capture actual set up and machine run times for entry into our MRP system.
• Conduct set-up and cycle time reduction projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years of CNC programming in a production-manufacturing environment
• 3 years minimum experience in programming horizontal machining centers.
• Experience with Solidworks
• Experience with Mastercam x9 or newer
• Experience interpreting drawings with Geomtric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with using and writing probing routines.
• Experience with Vericut simulation.
• Vacuum fixture design & implementation
• Knowledge of Haas, Mazak, and Okuma controllers
• Experience in MRP II, ISO 9001 & AS 9100.
