Responsibilities

How Will You Contribute to the Company?

We are looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect with hands-on industry experience in building and executing a well-architected cloud framework. You will be an integral part of the Cradlepoint Enterprise Architecture team leading standardization, and transformation toward an enterprise target architecture plan. You will be interacting and working closely with both business functional teams and technical engineers - where you will find that work is both fun and challenging with ample opportunity to innovate and drive change.

What Will You Do?

The Cradlepoint (CP) Cloud Solution Architect will be responsible for overseeing the Cradlepoint internal cloud computing strategy to ensure cost-effective international workloads. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud management, application design, and monitoring. This role will oversee architecture and deployment in cloud environments, including public, private, and hybrid cloud. The primary focus will be on Microsoft Azure, however experience in AWS, GPC is also desired. The CP Cloud Solution Architect will also be responsible for bridging the gaps between complex business problems and solutions with a cloud first mindset focusing on three main roles.

  • Develop and support an international multi-cloud cloud architecture strategy based on industry best practices
  • Lead cultural change for cloud adoption including adoption journey of retire, replace, migrate (lift and shift) in accordance with CP Enterprise Architecture Target Architecture and Framework
  • Coordinate with Product Research and Development (R&D) for cohesive cloud management strategy, networking, and support
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Four-year bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent) with eight to ten (8- 10) years progressive IT knowledge
  • Five (5) years of experience in architecting and implementing solutions with a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in cloud solutions
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification preferred, or working on similar industry certification and deep understanding of Microsoft Well Architected Framework
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate solutions and designs to stakeholders
  • Technical troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose problems during design, build and support
  • Customer-centric mindset demonstrating results-oriented success working in a cross-functional team
Bonus Points:
  • Working knowledge of architecture methodology such as TOGAF and LeanIX
  • Ability to solve business requirements in end-to-end system design. This includes cloud design architecture design skills as it relates to application support and migration to cloud based constructs. This includes knowledge and uses of common cloud components (Compute, Storage, Databases, Fabric Controllers) Not limited to, but includes experience in setting up VPC/VNET peering, Transit Gateways, VMs, Storage, AD, Load Balances, IKE and IPSEC configurations, and monitoring
  • Possess an understanding of how cloud elasticity and pricing models work. The ability to determine when scale-out solutions (horizonal and vertical) resources need to be dynamically added. Ability to denote pay-per-use or pay-as-you grow models are needed to control cost
  • Global networking and peering experience in international cloud deployments, including the use of interconnectivity hubs, peering, availability zones and DR and capacity planning. Knowledge in setting up BGP/ASN's, TCP/IP, VPN Gateways, Load Balancers, CDN, Firewalls, NAT gateways, DNS, Route Server, Bastion Zones, and Network Monitoring services
  • FedRAMP and GovCloud experience in setting up compliance-based cloud instances in support of applications and cloud environments that meet DFARS and NIST 800-171 requirements

Compensation and Benefits at Cradlepoint

Your Pay:

The salary range for this position is listed below. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

  • $108,850 - $210,450
Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. This variable pay opportunity is dependent upon the attainment of agreed to goals and objectives as determined by Cradlepoint's Senior Leadership team. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Cradlepoint provides generous paid time off, including: 15 days of Flexible Time Off (FTO), four paid quarterly well-being days, and 11 paid annual holidays (includes nine company holidays and up to two floating holidays). Please note that an employee's FTO balance and floating holidays may be prorated in the first year, based on start date. Cradlepoint also offers paid maternity-leave benefits and six weeks 100% paid family leave for all employees.
