SUMMARY

Bering Global Solutions, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Cloud Architect for a contract in the Ft Belvoir VA area (remote work negotiable). The Cloud Architect will be responsible for design and development of architecture within a government cloud environment.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for new Cloud architecture design, development, and integration of new architecture
• Collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity, and others to plan, design and develop secure cloud-based strategies
• Act as subject matter expertise for executing and overseeing cloud computing strategies
• Designs, codes, and debugs applications

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)

• Ten (10) years of technical infrastructure and/or systems engineering experience.
• Seven (7) years of experience in all aspects of cloud computing (compute, storage, platforms, data and security).
• Must possess an Information Assurance Manager (IAM) II, or higher, certification (e.g., CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM CISSP, GSLC, CCISO, HCISPP)
• Must possess a relevant computing environment certification
• Must ]have cleared or be able to clear a National Agency Check with Inquiry; requires U.S. citizenship

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Experience in one or more automation languages (CLI, Python, Ruby, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of Direct Connect, Private Link, VPN and other Public Cloud connectivity solutions.
• Thorough understanding of infrastructure automation, CI/CD, networking, storage, and cloud-based delivery models.
• Knowledge in networking and web standards such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, web security & firewalls.
• Experience in autoscaling, load balancing and DR cloud computing models.
• Experience in SSO/Federation.
• Working knowledge of configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet & Ansible).
• Thorough understanding of Cloud native, vendor agnostic & cloud ready app development.
• Thorough understanding on Cloud Governance.
• Knowledge in cloud monitoring tools, application performance monitoring tools and operational dashboarding.

Preferred

• Agile DevOps experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
