JOB SUMMARY:
The BI Engineer will apply his/her knowledge of the Reed Exhibitions North America (RXNA) customer data platforms to help facilitate business transformation via creation of a "Data Lake" environment. Success in this role is based upon the incumbent's ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and become an expert in the integration/creation of multitudes of RXNA data sources.

RXNA has successfully transitioned our CRM to a global Oracle/SalesForce solution and are looking to build an agile environment to manipulate and visualize data. The BI Engineer is a newly created and exciting opportunity within our growing D&A team which will help support change for US business. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Integrates a linking of RXUS historical data structures to the new Oracle/SalesForce solution to create a fluid environment where Data Science related projects & custom reporting comes to life.
  • Identifies gaps, challenges, and limitations of current reporting structure through deep understanding of the business and data warehouse architecture.
  • Expert at assessing proposed reports and identifying advantages, disadvantages, gaps, and possible workarounds (or alternatives) for key business needs.
  • Works closely with the Database Analysts, Analytics, and Data Solutions verticals within D&A to understand data analytics & reporting requirements based on assessment of need from show teams or RXUS internal departments.
  • Helps to integrate and visualize external/3rd party data sources to ensure the RXUS business is able to enrich marketing data and effectively segment and target anticipated audiences.
  • Able to take insights and learnings from statistical analytics projects and integrate the information back into the Data Lake environment for use by the RXUS community via automated reports in PowerBI.
  • Produces and maintains process documentation and workflows of the data lake architecture.
  • At times, will be asked to present findings/visualizations to stakeholders of all levels throughout the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree in Computer Science or Data related field
  • Experience with OBIEE, Oracle EBS, and SQL with either MS SQL Server or ODBM.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with Multi-Dimensional and Star Schema Database design, multi-tier architecture and deployment, OLAP and Client/Server architectures
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, showing a high degree of self-motivation and initiative
  • Previous experience with data visualization or reporting software (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of Python, PySpark, and AWS platform is required.
