Position Summary

MEPPI's High Voltage Switchgear Division (HVSD) is looking for an Applications Designer I to create technical drawings and design documents to support production of HVS Division products. The successful candidate will work with CAD software, Solidedge, and E3 for schematic and wiring documents/drawings.
Essential Functions

• Take design concepts from engineering staff and create design documents that fully specify the design intent and support the manufacture of the product with little further input from the engineers.
• Prepare 2D and 3D layouts and drawings in collaboration with Design Engineers
• Generate and maintain 3D parts and assemblies using 3D modeling CAD packages.
• Prepare both mechanical documents and schematic and wiring diagram drawings
• Responsible for maintaining revision control of CAD files
• Make recommendations to improve product cost, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Work with production personnel (both HVSD and vendor) to resolve design issues.
• Create drawing files and keep them updated according to Company procedures.

• Associate�s Degree in Drafting or Design Technologies with a minimum of five years� experience in a custom manufacturing environment, or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficient with 3D modeling CAD packages.
• Proficient in and experience with both mechanical and electrical drawing practices.
