Application Engineer

Basic Job Functions:

• Prepare structural calculation packages that include light gage steel design, wind analysis for components and cladding loading, fastener qualification, custom panel analysis, etc.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and other documents for design intent to ensure products are being applied in the correct manner.
• Maintain the highest standards of service through professional, informative and responsive communications (written and verbal) with our internal and external customers.
• Participate in project calls and job site visits as required
• Prepare and present job site reports as necessary
• Prepare product certifications and technical documents.
• Be willing and able to travel.
• Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week when required.
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field (Civil or Structural Preferred)
• Current EIT certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience in reading architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, along with a general understanding of the construction process
• Must be self-motivated, and willing to learn and adapt
• Able and willing to obtain PE licensure once requirements have been met

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering
• Knowledge of commercial building industry codes and standards
• Prior experience engineering cladding or building components
• Civil or Structural PE license
