Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center is seeking a per diem Activities Assistant

All activity programs will be designed to be meaningful as well as recreational and should be carried out in a manner that ensures participant dignity, as well as sense of usefulness to self and the larger community.

  • Activity Assistant to be a creative individual who is able to implement age appropriate, meaningful activities for LTC/Geriatric residents..
  • Activity Assistant should have worked with residents who have dementia and are able to adapt the activities to fit the needs of each resident's individual cognitive needs.
  • Must be 18 years old with a HS Diploma/ GED- or Associates Degree in Humans Services with at least 1 year experience in a related field, or have worked in therapeutic recreation activities with the geriatric population.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of resident's activity routine and participation.
  • Activity Assistant should be able to prepare evening and weekend activities and clean up when activity is completed.

We're located at 2256 Burdett Avenue in Troy (directly across the street from Samaritan Hospital, a part of our health system), with an on-site CDTA bus stop.
