Position Overview

The Account Specialist, Client Development will be responsible for building senior level relationships, providing analysis and value-added insights and driving revenue through consultative selling. You will work cross-functionally to support your clients in developing and executing against their strategic plans, drive client satisfaction, and meet and/or exceed assigned revenue goals. You will demonstrate a passion for Beauty, bringing an engaging personality and presence to the team, while successfully delivering insights from extensive data analysis in an impactful and succinct story.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with client to drive business impact and maximize client value.
  • Leverage NPD solutions and data assets combined with market and industry knowledge to create solution-based analysis with clear proactive insights (the what and the why) and providing action-oriented recommendations (the so what and now what).
  • Understand the client's organization and their strategies, objectives, and challenges.
  • Develop and execute account plans.
  • Quickly recognize potential revenue opportunities within the client and lead collaboration or partnerships globally to drive sales and growth.
  • Strong understanding of NPD's suite of Analytic Solutions and Consumer Purchase Behavior solutions with the ability to clearly communicate their value proposition and apply them to client needs.
  • Seek collaborative opportunities, internally and externally, identifying occasions to enhance a project by working across teams.
  • Problem-solve and maintain relationship with adaptability, urgency and positivity.
  • Manage creation and delivery of weekly, monthly and quarterly on going "key insights" presentations.
  • Build knowledge of the Beauty industry and related categories and Macro Trends.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Marketing, Market Research, Merchandising, or Psychology. Master's degree in Marketing, Economics, Statistics or Business Administration a plus.
  • 2-3 years of experience in marketing research, client services, customer/account -management or analytics (POS, consumer, custom survey research and/or syndicated research),
  • Experience leveraging POS/consumer panel data to generate impactful, engaging and action-based analyses and presentations. Basic understanding of analytic models - forecasting, price and promotion, marketing effectiveness, - in order to tie solutions to client business issues.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Critical thinker, ability to synthesize data and develop meaningful insights and actionable recommendations using multiple data sources.
  • Experience in collaborating on projects and maintaining client relationships in complex situations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including to executive level audiences.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the field of beauty is a plus.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn proprietary software/database applications.
  • Expert in all MS Office products- Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (typically 10%)

This position supports clients in the New York City Area and can be either based in our New York office or remote. We will consider candidates based within a reasonable commute via car, train, or bus from the New York City area.
