This integral member of the Commercial team will drive revenue with one or more of our most strategic accounts to ensure continued growth and profitability. The Account Manager builds relationships with and provides support to Food & Beverage clients. The Manager handles all day-to-day servicing, assists with product development and project management, contributes to revenue goals, and increases NPD's value with client contacts.

Preferred location for this position is Chicago, IL or Philadelphia, PA;

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Enhance NPD's connection with a major food and beverage manufacturer in multiple categories. Manage and implement NPD's strategic approach to the client, developing relationships, creating business insights, and supporting day-to-day needs.
  • Accurately interpret data and clearly articulate findings and insights to both internal and external audiences, in written and verbal formats.
  • Partner with cross-functional departments and team members to bring the right solutions to the client.
  • Create high client satisfaction by managing expectations and providing excellent customer service.
  • Conduct small group client trainings on NPD applications and methodology, both onsite and remotely.
  • Contribute to team revenue and opportunity pipeline.
  • Support the professional development of one or more junior team members.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience in client service within market research (consumer, POS, custom, and/or syndicated research).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to synthesize data and develop meaningful conclusions/insights using consumer panel data.
  • Strong analysis and writing ability - digests diverse data sets into cohesive and succinct stories.
  • Basic presentation skills and understanding of the selling process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn proprietary software/database applications.
  • Expert in all MS Office products- Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Experience managing others is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel (typically 10%) and/or potential to work onsite in Philadelphia, although not currently required.

The ideal candidate must be able to conduct engaging and impactful presentations that deliver value to the client while telling a compelling story in a concise and polished manner to a diverse audience. Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to the customer and appropriately match the customer's needs with NPD's products and services or be willing to direct the customer to the best solution.

Relationships
The ideal candidate must be comfortable and effective when talking with a broad range of decision influencers and decision makers within an organization. The candidate will be able to effectively understand and build relationships throughout the prospective customer's organization.

The ideal candidate will be competent in managing their time and activities and must embrace our proven opportunity and customer management processes and systems. Candidates must possess a "can-do" perspective in their professional attitude. They will be detail oriented and demonstrate a strong work ethic. They will be sticklers for accuracy in their own work as well as their colleagues. They will be ready to back up their assertions with facts.
