About the Role

Every summer, we invite talented MBA students to join us for a challenging and hands-on 10-week experience in the retail industry. The Summer Internship Program combines meaningful work experiences with exposure to different areas of our business to give interns a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge of the retail industry and determine whether they would like to pursue a career at Gap Inc. after graduation. As an intern, you will get to meet our senior executives and leaders. You will work on impactful projects and you will have the opportunity to present to senior management.

The Digital Performance & Growth team works with the central and brand business teams to discover new business growth opportunities through testing, personalization, and thoughtful analysis. This team sits within a very quickly developing Digital Center of Gap Inc. and is actively part of the critical conversations that will lead the way forward for our digital commerce platform.

What You'll Do

  • Influence direction of strategic initiatives under the Digital Performance & Growth charter
  • Drive usage of commercially available ecommerce tools and technologies
  • Optimize and scale successful personalization technologies, continually driving next best value add
  • Identify and model process within new concepts
  • Facilitate business user training and guidance for personalization technologies, including facilitation of regularly scheduled check-ins
  • Assist in coordinating project activities with cross-functional business partners including Strategy, Creative/UX, Product Management, Web Development, GapTech, among others
  • Assist in providing technical direction and requirements to Web Developers for A/B tests and other projects
  • Subject Matter Expert in Personalization
  • Control business logic in marketing technology UIs, both rule management and audience creation

Who You Are

  • Graduate Student with one year left to complete your degree (graduating between December 2022 - June 2023) & 2-3 years work experience, including project management
  • Interest in retail IT with strong analytical and critical thinking focus
  • Understanding of the modern commerce technology stack: testing, personalization
  • Strong written and verbal communication with understanding of the dynamics of large organizational politics. Technical writing skills a plus. 
  • Ability to manage scope
  • Segmentation and Campaign management experience
